After weeks of lurking, I've finally decided to register. I thought it would be appropriate since I am trying to create manga (although due to writer's block, I have no script...and I'm not the best artist either, without being the worst).
So...anyone else like classic works of literature? |

Welcome aboard.
Well, we have plenty of writers here, so you may find someone with a script that can offer you something you'd like to draw.
As for classic literature, it depends on what you mean.
I like Christopher Marlow, if you mean those kinds of classics. _________________ Avi - The cute & fuzzy galactic overlord |

Welcome!
Writer's block? That's what the Workshops in Melbourne are for! If you reside in Melbourne, come and drop by. We may be able to help you if you're stuck.
Just write it all in paper all the important details.
Literature?
...
I like Medea. Also, (for something much more familiar) Sweet Valley High Twins. _________________ 1999: "Be true to yourself. Believe in yourself. And never, ever, EVER give up! This is your strength!"

To be honest, I'm just happy that there are still people reading books. For the past week or so, I've been stuck at home (in Victoria, but over an hour's drive to Melbourne) with my siblings, one of which claims she can't read despite studying chemistry at university (including an enhancement course during year 12).
Currently, I'm reading Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar, and I recently finished reading Lolita.
Oh, and classic literature to me is anything that isn't forgotten in a month (and isn't Harry Potter...). It also really helps if it's well written.
Classic fairytales and Marlow I definately like the sound of...and the title 'Sweet Valley High Twins' kind of frightens me.
In regards to illustrating other people's work, I don't know if I could do it justice. I illustrated a friend's description once and I was way off. It was probably fun for her though. |

Yes. I'm surprised Sweet Valley High Twins isn't in the horror section, as well.
Hmm? An hour's drive? Then you can definitely drop by sometimes in the workshop (which is actually scheduled this weekend on Saturday.)
Some of us look for anime and take 2 hour train rides to get there. (Either that, or it's just me.) Of course, this was before we are blessed with BROADBAND.
And it's fine. That's the workshop is for. To improve. Both in writing and drawing. Not all of us are evil. (Okay. Yes, we all are.) _________________ 1999: "Be true to yourself. Believe in yourself. And never, ever, EVER give up! This is your strength!"

I would love to go to the workshop this Saturday, but I'm going to the Manifest party (after volunteering pretty much all day Saturday and Sunday without eating ['cause I don't eat when I'm working hard *shrugs*], I'm kind of attached to those guys). Then I'm going to see Rocky Horror. Perhaps I'll be able to make it to the next workshop.
Oh, and I'm still stuck on dial-up. I used to have access to high-speed internet via satellite, but when our computer died, that somehow got lost... but we still pay for it.
I'm glad to hear that you are all evil. I'm not evil myself, I just have questionable morals. Will I still fit in? |

Are you with Telstra? It's Telstra, right?
I can give you the direct line for immediate complaints. (After all, I DO work for the bastards.)
And yes. You will fit in. Being evil is goooooooooooooooooooood. _________________ 1999: "Be true to yourself. Believe in yourself. And never, ever, EVER give up! This is your strength!"

Manifest party?
No taser for you.
Trust me, that'll make sense soon enough. _________________ Avi - The cute & fuzzy galactic overlord |

I don't know if my internet provider is Telstra, but for some crazy reason, I have Telstra shares (thanks to my parents).
Also, I don't know if it's because I only spent an hour and a half at the Manifest party, but no part of it seemed to need the banning of tasers. Although, thankfully, tasers were absent.
Can't you trust Manifest people with non-fatal weapons? |

Tasers are banned by default... They're illegal here. _________________ Avi - The cute & fuzzy galactic overlord |
